My new year began with the Flu ! Eeekkk. Run for the hills and hide. This flu really jumped up and bit me. Usually I have Uncle Sam to thank for my yearly flu shot ( sometimes two) but this year I missed out. Having retired 4 months ago ! LOL. Now I am behind and playing catch up while nursing the last symptoms of the flu. Here is my sched the rest of the week for Jan 13.
Our sovereignty as a dealership has been compromised ! Trespassers, Interlopers be gone ! Itt is no different than our brick and motor building.( along with aluminum and glass). Would someone be allowed to walk in and put up a banner in our showroom. Would someone be allowed to re-route the road that leads to our dealership ? Who thinks that is ok to do? Same applies to our website. NO ONE should add any service, any function to our dealerships website without consent, consultation or permission.
I am all in for making our website acceseable for those with disablites. I do have concerns about the data collected and how it is used. Visitors to our website are like honored guests in our home. Should we expose them to compainies that are going to email them, contact them, keep them on a list just because a visitor uses our site?

It is time to find subprime pieces in our Service Depts and feed them to Sales Depts to sell to OUR subprime customers.

I have asked our Platform Used Car Manager to tell me what cars he would be buying if he were standing in the lane looking for subprime pieces to like open a used point. ( pretending! do not get any ideas that we are opening a used car only point..) Although I have the cars in mind already. Heck, I could see it in Vauto myself. But better to get a second set of eyes on it.
Update: Early Friday Morning 8 Nov Slow moving idea I guess. I have heard zero from our Platform Used Car Manager about what cars he would be raising his hand for if he were asked to fill a used car lot with secondary cars. That is about the number of cars we would need. Had a couple discussions with the the Corporate Trainer, who is also leading the charge with Service to Sales process around the Group. He just needs to know what to be looking for.

“Great question Tom.There are several answers.” My reply: Great non-answer !🤣🤣🤣 – I was too vague – sorry. I am asking because I am looking at new ways to source cars to fit the secondary customers. Half the battle of secondary is having the right pieces. If you were looking at group of cars, generally what year range would you want? What mile cap would there be? Is there a brand that works better? A model? Even color. SUV’s; I hear they are all the rage this year. Secondary customers must be seeking those?👀😊 What is your Year/mile range/brand SUV to sell ? Thanks for the insight !

Basically, i can not drum up enough interest. I may be a poor communicator. Or, people are making enough money and they think there is no reason to worry. Guess I am a worrier. Especially in the Macon area, where a huge demand for secondary vehicles makes it crucial to have on hand vehicles to fit the secondary customer.
Main stores to look at are our Toyota and Nissan stores.
The Lexus and BMW stores are probable not good hunting
grounds for vehicles from 2011-2016,
Mechanically sound, miles capped around 85 k.
Looking through Service visits for Toyota
there were 95 vehicles that matched the paramiters.
For Nissan there were 53.
